About SMkN Foundation

The purpose of SMkNF is to ADVANCE THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CREATIVE INDUSTRY AS A MEANINGFUL ECONOMIC CONTRIBUTOR IN SOUTH AFRICA.

The Sello Maake kaNcube Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Actor/Writer/Director Sello Maake kaNcube. Its objective is in decentralizing the appreciation of arts and culture, and engendering social cohesion and excellence through the performing arts.

At its heart, is Artists for Social Advocacy and Change Ensemble (ASACHE pronounced Asakhe, Zulu for Lets build). This ensemble functions on the premise of theatre for social development using the performing arts for social advocacy and disseminating pertinent messages to society and corporate in a multidisciplinary approach.

The SMkN Foundation is a nexus for creative and performing arts and employs action learning and entrepreneurship competency development to produce industry-ready skills for the creative economy and builds a bridge between the world of knowledge and practical experience anchored in Life-long Learning.
